Santosh Kumar, PhD
Assistant Professor
Biography
Dr. Kumar's laboratory focuses on identifying novel molecular signaling pathways involved in regulating endothelial function in health and disease. Literature evidence suggested that CF patients suffer from endothelial dysfunction, although the mechanism remains poorly understood. Therefore, the team joined the Center to connect with experts in CF research and gain access to Center supported resources including the animal models of CF. This support was instrumental in securing a Pilot and Feasibility grant from Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) and generate preliminary data for federal funding to examine the role of CFTR in endothelial function.
